I am thinking of using zing it for the suspension on my sons hammock. He weighs 38 pounds and I am fairly confident it will hold him well. If I where 100% I would not be posting here. Any thoughts on this will be very much appreciated.

Kids will be kids. In my experience they don't just lay in a hammock it becomes a jungle jim. Just something to consider.
I use Dynaglide for my boy's hammocks. Still lighter and smaller than 7/64 AS, but stiffer and less likely to tangle than zing/lash it.

There's plenty of tensile strength to burn even with the 1.75.
The issue -- and you are an experienced hammocker to know your usage -- is whether line that thin has other issues, is hazardous to other things. Is there a need to scale down everything with lighter weight? It is not as though there is a significant $ savings in doing so. Unless, of course, you have the line already, so the marginal cost is $0.
I wouldn't want a child jumping on a hmmck, 'specially not a bridge, with its bar. But, maybe for children, resiliant line like paracord does have advantages. It is forgiving.

Other than you already having it, I can't see an argument in it's favor. As O&B noted, kids will be kids.

This dad wouldn't use zing-it for a suspension line.
If you have to ask .........
Dynaglide would work for sure.
Waiting to see that kids bridge
