I just had a very soft, very light package delivered to my desk.

I'm hoping to have some time this weekend to give it a try and figure out how to hang it properly. Our cold weather is long gone until at least October or later, but I'm glad I'll be ready for it when it gets here.

    Hey Mac,

I know you probably have this info somewhere, but with the IX UQ's can you tell me what the rough temp ranges for them...?

Specifically for WBBB in my case...

The first layer could get you as low as 45... nesting the second layer with it could get you as low as 32.

I have hung in 8*F with four or five layers, using hte IX Hammock Sock as the outer layer.

Also, it depends on what you have on top. Too little on top will make you feel cold below.

    Macaroni,
How do you recommend packing the IX UQs: stuff? roll? fold?

    Yes!

I have done all of the above. I favor loosely folding several times, then rolling into a tight cylinder, and stuffing that into a stuff sack and compressing the ends.

TeeDee has posted one or two. The two layer IX UQ packs to about 1L. The Jerry Chairs are a little bulkier, with nylon coverings, but they are not much larger when stuffed.

In this thread about the new IX Top Quilts, there is a picture of a two layer top quilt packed, but not really compressed, to about a gallon. The 2 layer IX TQ has more fabric than any of the IX UQs, so it is a lot larger when packed.
