    Whoopsie

If you already have the amsteel you should make the whoopie slings. If you're not familiar with splicing, I wasn't either it's really easy to do and there's a lot of information here.

I'd like to thank my iPhone for spell correcting whoopie as whoopsie in the title.

I've considered the whoopie but don't trust my braiding lol. The clove hitch with and loop on top is working really well. I'm thinking to bring a small flathead that weighs practically nothing to help undo it. Harder in the cold wind though so I'm thinking the flathead will make a big difference.

Whoopies aren't braided. When I first got into hanging and heard about whoopie slings, I thought to myself that splicing these things couldn't be so easy, having actually done braided eye splices before. Check out the sticky on whoopie slings over in the Suspension forum. Because the amsteel doesn't have a core, the splicing is basically pulling an end back thru itself. The tutorial is very good. It's not hard at all, once you understand the process.

Be careful suspending yourself with knots in amsteel. It's very slippery.

Yeah I learned that on my first attempt as I. Slowly slipped to the ground lol. The knots I'm using now have worked for me but I have not tested them overnight yet. I might stick to what I have now instead of the triglide due to monetary issues. :/ I do have extra amsteel I will try and tinker with.

As stated, when you do decide to try (and you will succumb), making whoopies' is easy after you have done it once...no braiding.
