1). Where do I start. I live in Indiana and there isnt anyone carrying hammocks except hammock bliss and eno.. but still how do you try one out.

2). Concerning the colder weather, How low can you go befor adding a CCF pad or underquilt, (in general), and specifically concerning a HH or a Clark Ultralight.

3). All of you that are experienced, if you could go back now, what would you do differently... I have already spent a ton on this addiction of mine with other gear, and it is starting to get ridiculous

thank you for all your help

    1. Well, your in Greenwood and I'm in Greenwood...we could work out a show and tell. PM me and we can set it up (I'm down in the Smokies next week) No help with the HH or Clark but I have a Blackbird, BMBH and a DIY version to give you some alternatives
    2. I use a UQ and/or CCF pad under 70*F
    3. It will remain ridiculous (acceptance will set you free)
Learn how to sew and make as much of your own gear as possible..buy what you can't make.
I can let you feel the differences between an UQ and a CCF pad so you can judge your interest.
Again, some of the items you already have can be used with hammocks.

get with me...I was thinking along these lines...
My plan was to get together and I'll bring and set-up examples for review and short term laying.
A BB + my DIY hammock are close enough to a HH get the feel of a gathered end hammock (I'll explain the differences between a HH, eno, etc and BB) and a BMBH will get the point of a bridge.
CCF/thermarest Vs UQ. How to use a mummy bag as a quilt. A couple tarps...the basics.
    see what you think
(I wish I could have done this when I started)

Nah, stay up there away from people that hang out on a hammock site that sleeps mostly in a tent...
