Walmart fabric ..What is Nylon Taslite ???

Bought a bolt of Multicam Nylon Taslite fabric at Walmart. This is not ripstop but the price was cheap so I figured I could use it for stuff bags and even a practice tarp.

My question is, what is Nylon Taslite what would be the best use for it ???

True taslite is a trade name for a textile made by Supplex. If memory serves it is similar in texture to microfiber fabrics being used for clothing. Some of it is being clearanced by the manufacturer which explains how Wally World got a hold of it. IMO This is better than stuff sacks. It should make a very nice hammock. You could also use it for quilt covers unless the weight penalty is too much for you to accept. It is a very nice fabric.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Jumping on the wagon here, is there a given day to hit the Wally Worlds? The few times I have been them, and looked for fabric, they had next to nothing that would work for camping, and no "Dollar Bins". Is it just some of them? Any experiences would be great!

My expierence is that it is hit or miss. This is the first time I have found any in a couple of years. About 2 years ago I found some ripstop nylon and a heavy camo ripstop in the $1 bin but nothing until now.

This multicam is $1.97 a yard and they had several bolts

The WM's around here are hit or miss also. The 3 in my area are all different. 1 has almost the same fabric section as the old days, 1 has just basic notions and the last is somewhere in between. Got to know the ladies at the better one and what you see is what they are sent. I just make it a point of checking everytime I'm in there. Sometimes you can get lucky.

Was looking at this fabric tonight. Glad to see someone feels it be good hammock material. Gonna pick some up now. $2 a yard seems to be est price I found for DIY hammock material.

Am looking to make a DL hammock and was looking at this fabric as well. I can't find the weight for this stuff anywhere. The price is great but if its heavy its wasted money. Anyone find the specs for this? Is it the 40d 1.6.
