More stories to come from Trail Days

I figured I would drop in and say Hi to all those that could not make it to Trails Days and let you all know that there are some stories to come later on.

As of this time I have meet the following users from HammockForums, Cannibal, Genuine Draft, Angry Sparrow, Hooch, WarbonnetGuy, Smee, Peter Pan, Nest, No Worries. I look forward to meeting more users today. I know see all the fun and great times I have been missing by not attending the hangs here in the south. I really wish I could get down here to attend some.

I am not sure who will be the first to post, Cannibal or AngrySparrow about the goings on. I am on the road home still.

    Hey everyone..

I *just* got home from Trail Days a short while ago. Fantastic weekend! I really enjoyed meeting or meeting again all the hangers that were there. It was also great to see how that all the hammockers spent so much time hanging out and talking to each other. The 'community feel' we have here on the forum carried over nicely to the real life group.

Yes, there were a few new pieces of hammocking gear - including a new HH. I think it's being called the 'Deep Jungle'.
    - Double Layer
    - Full 2 piece meet-in-the-middle side zipper (ala 2Q/ZQ)
    - Nylon Fabric with a polyester ripstop grid
    - No tarp included
HH also has a new storm-tarp out.

There will be more details forthcoming, along with a review from Cannibal.

Also notable is the public intro of JRB's 3 Season Mt Washington.
    - 2 inch constant height baffles, plus overstuff
    - 22 oz
    - 15ºF rating

Finally, Brandon had available the finalized version of the 3-season Yeti. It has a few small design improvements, including some details on the draft tube. But, the most notable improvement are a few small snaps - to allow one to attach his upcoming snap-on-heat-sheet attachement.

From a hammocking perspective, Trail Days was great! There were 5 different hammock purveyors on hand; Speer, Jacks r Better, WarBonnet, ENo and that Canadian guy who gets a bunch of his stuff made in China. Also on hand was Brian from OES, selling his wares and chillin' with the hanging gang after hours. Branson's WarBonnet tent ended up being social central for the hammocking crowd for Thursday and Friday nights. A great time was had by all. It was wonderful to see old friends and make new ones with folks like CedarTree, WarbonnetGuy, Brian and ATTroll. You guys rock, thanks again for a great time!

On a semi-separate note, as Brandon about the new slogan I came up with for WarBonnet hamocks. I liked it.

One amusing thing from the weekend - I was sitting in the Warbonnet booth early Friday morning, talking to Brandon and Brian (OES). After a few minutes, Tom Hennessy walked in. He spent several minutes inspecting one of the displayed BlackBirds, and a few more minutes talking about the design merits. He clearly was impressed - because he bought one. Tom Hennessy was Brandon's #1 (read first) Trail Days customer. It was a Double 1.7, for the record. Brian and I were greatly amused, and completely speechless.

I don't want to spend too much time speculating on the conversation that occured - but it's safe to say that Tom will be taking it apart to get a closer look.
