    OES Tarp Trouble

I originally order a Deluxe SpinnUL color Grey from OES. Brian said he was having trouble with SpinnUL, so I changed my order to a Ultra Silnylon with 4 pullouts. What I got from Brian is a Ultra (I think Silnylon w/o pullouts) color forest green. What I was charged was a total of 168.50. An Ultra Sil w 4 pullouts plus delivery would have been 154.50. If this is an Ultra UL w/o pullouts the price would have been over 200.00. So riddle me this who's order do I have? Doesn't make sense.

I would take that up with Brian. But, he does have his own sub forum here where this question would most likely be answered.

Most likely a shipping mix-up. I imagine if you contact him he will get it straightened out.

Easier said than done. I sent him an email while waiting on this order. I wanted to order a Deluxe for my younger daughter for a trip in September. That was August 18th, he never replied. I sent a follow up email, again no reply.

never got any answer from Brian for now 4 weeks,,so I needed a tarp and WL was super great on answering all my questions and ordered a oldman winter off them. I am going with the guys that care about me and my needs. Hope everything works out for OES,,I really do. But I am really glad with my decsions and know what I am going to get. the wife gets the OES 10' x 12' and it will close on both ends very nicely..love the tarp and workmanship as its first class. But!

I have heard good things about wilderness logics, you will have to post your opinions after some field use. I too value customer service from cottage guys. That and customizations is what keeps me going back. Small opps can be tough, but HG, Zpacks, and even the one man show of Papa Smurf generally get back to me within a day or two (if not hours!)

+1 on WildernessLogics customer service. I think they stay up all night replying to emails. Heck, I seen where some of there customers were contacted by phone. Let us know how that Oldman Winter does. I'm saving for one now......

Received my MacCat Deluxe yesterday for an order placed on 8/17. Brian's website was upfront about the 2-2.5 week backlog. My experience was pretty much exactly what I expected. Yeah, communication isn't great, but I think sometimes we get conditioned to next day shipping from REI and forget that we are working with a cottage industry. Regardless of the wait and the unanswered emails, I'd rather support Brian and his workmanship than a multi-national corporation that does product knock-offs and sends them off to China for manufacturing.
