    snap closure vs. sewn footbox

For Burrow owners -- did you get the sewn footbox option or go with the snap closure? What are your reasons? I'm trying to decide which way to go.

    Thanks for the input.

Depends on what temps you will be hiking:

in 3 season I like a sewn footbox as it keeps in heat much better and keeps my feet warm.

For summer I've used a sewn footbox and begged for a way to vent my feet cause I got too hot. So I got a snap closure from Hammock Gear

I went with the sewn. The snaps concerned me due to wear and tear. I did not like the idea of pulling the quilt apart and snapping it back and forth, back and forth. Although being able to open up your quilt is a nice venting feature, i just dident picture myself doing this so I went with the sewn. When My feet get hot I just put them on top my my TQ. You do get some more versatility with the snaps but IMHO I'm just a fan of the sewn.
    YMMV
Both options are good options its just which one is best for you

I have made my quilts with omni-tape closure, equivalent to snaps, because I make them with a neck hole and wear them, ala JacksRBetter quilts. That allows me to leave a jacket at home when backpacking.

I went with snaps because of being able to vent. I am a warm sleeper.

Good point Papi, as I am a cold sleeper and my feet are usually the first part of my body to get cold. I guess that plays a big part in the decision.

I decided to go with the snaps for flexibility of use. Thanks for the input. Now I just have to wait a couple of weeks.

I am a bit late in my comments,

but for my 3-season Burrow I too went with snaps for venting. Sometimes I sleep with my sock-covered feet outside the quilt.

But, if I am able to order a winter Burrow this fall I will choose a sewn footbox for warmth. The drawcord on the 3-S will not close the opening 100%.
