    Webbing Buckles with RR??

Is there any reason not to make shorter continuous loops for the webbing buckles?

When switching to the webbing buckles it seems to lengthen the suspension even more. Would there be any reason to not put really short continuous loops on the webbing buckles when using it on a Ridge Runner???

When making a continuous loop with buries (no knots), it requires the buries to be a certain length - hence the minimum length used in those on the RR.

If you wanted to shorten them, I suppose you could fold them to double them up, try to tie a shorter one with amsteel/fisherman knots, etc.

Ok, that makes sense. So now that you have answered that question, would it be possible to make a continuous loop with the amsteel doubled through the webbing buckles??

.....I really need to learn how to splice Time to start practicing with the 25' I won at MAHHA!!

I'm not a splicing expert but I'm not sure that's doable. Do get it to work right, you have to cross things back on themselves. Doubling up would be tough in that way. You'd probably either need to look at looping it around a lot (doing extra loops like prussiks, although there might not be room on the buckles/dog bone metal pieces at the other end for that), using knots or perhaps a piece of hardware (like a carabiner) to connect the two?

I'd have to get my RR out to experiment but my guess is that what's there is probably one of the more straightforward/elegant solutions. Brandon at Warbonnet's a lot better/smarter at this stuff than I am.
