Hopefully this doesn't cause a closure in the area.

The fire was west of the camp.
Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course.

Looking forward to next weekend. I see the trout action is good up there. I'll take a couple of poles so maybe my nephew and I can get in a little fishing. There is also a ren fair at the lake, I see - Hmmmm. I am not a ren fair person, but may be fun to see some of the folks walking around.

So do we have confirmation of the rest of the folks that can make it? I should be there on Friday in the afternoon.

So Cal Hang August 20 thru Aug 21 (assuming this is a one day event unless folks arrive on Friday, Aug 19).

    Location: Big Bear (http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=34.30...z=15&t=h&hl=en)
GPS Coordinates: ?? -- Triggerhpy, on the link above, it appears that the location where the map is centered is on Van Dusen Canyon Rd/3N16 (Polique Canyon Rd.), can you confirm if this is where we are all meeting/setting up camp?

    What to bring:

Nat'l Forest Adventure Pass ($5 daily or $30 year)
Fire Permit (just in case - it's free and good for a year)
    Hammocks!
Food (will we need a menu plan or list of what everyone is planning on bringing?)
Water (bring enough water for yourself and whoever you're taking with you, assuming the location we are going to be vehicle dependent)

** Let me know if this sounds too formal, I'm just used to seeing my other clubs organize events this way **

List of folks scheduled...copy and paste the list below and add your name if you are planning on going.

    Going or Likely to Go
    TriggerHpy
    Lizzie
    SquidMonk (Lizzie's nephew)
    BigDave
    NickRP
    Mangus7175

    Maybe
    John Sawyer & Kids
    WWhermit
Well, of the six of us, we have not heard recently from BigDave or NickRP... I'll PM them if they do not respond here in the next day. I assume John and WWhermit are still maybes.

We still need to hear on food... I am definitely down for taking basic cheeseburger supplies for Saturday afternoon. I will also bring two bundles of firewood.

Unless other plans materialize, looks like dinner and breakfast are on our own. (I will have my small MSRT stove, pot, some MRE's, etc.)

I'm good for a Duch oven chili and cornbread dinner and can bring up fire wood.

Really hate to do this but it looks like I'll be dropping out of this Hang this time. Have to take care of family business this weekend and I can't seem to get away from it even for just a day. I hope you guys have fun and I can't wait for the pictures

We'll miss you Mangus! Sorry to hear you can' make it, but will see you next time we gather.

TriggerHappy, since you'll be there early, I'll look for your hammock in the campground. Just in case, my car is a green-grey ford Taurus with a bike rack on the trunk.
