Rule Britannia! Excellent read Pete. Great pics. I really like how you were safety conscious. Traveling alone makes a person think differently, hopefully.
A mountain of good gear to keep one cozy. I don't have the energy at my age for a trip like that and am very happy to get to read yours and others TR's.
I think -40 is an all time hammock low,,certainly cold enough.
    Thanks for posting Pete.

You sound more sensible than me
I wouldn't have even attempted it without the arctic survival training, despite much time spent in Scotland in the winter. The guy who taught us is one of the best in the world.

Haha! Glad you liked it Bill.

Yes, travel in winter alone is something different isn't it?
It forces you into a different mindset. I found it all the more focusing being in a foreign country too.
Fingers crossed for you mate, the weather next winter cools down with the sun past maximum. I may be bound your way next year

A pleasure Tall Paul. That thermostat is still set on minimum here. Everything is still hot, including the freezer.

The irony that your kit survived hell frozen over, only to have it destroyed by SAS... great pictures and a good adventure you had there. I would love to visit the market.
