Do you guys know the requirements for a Canadian to come down and camp there? I can't make it this go since I haven't tested out my winter gear in a hammock yet (I'll be doing that sometime in January up here), but I'd love to join you guys on the next one.
Do any of you venture North of the border at all?

Lol. Y'know Shug, I had the strongest craving for Ketchup chips a few weeks ago. Went through two bags in as many nights. I think I could handle bringing a few of each with me. Especially since Coffee Crisp is one of my favourite bars.
So there's no Non-resident camping permit required like there is in Canada?

I always eat those chips first thing when we visit our daughter in Quebec.))))
I have never heard of a non-resident permit where I camp. Just get on the trail and go.

Hey NWOHanger, you are not that far away from the hang area, unlike me.

If you do come down, with a bunch of Coffee Crisp, It might complicate you leaving Ontario with a truckload for export

But I sure would enjoy a batch

Dutch makes the best Ketchup chips. They ran them in the us a few years ago, but it didn't last long

In Northern Ontario you need a non-resident camping permit to camp on crown land (outside of Provincial Parks) if you don't live in Ontario. Just the governments way of saying "Thanks for visiting".
TZ, I think I'm actually one of the closest people to the hang. It's only about an hour drive from here. The funny thing is, when we were driving home from Duluth the week before Christmas, the wife and I were talking about trying out some camping in the numerous parks along the way next year. Looks like we will have a good reason as long as you guys don't mind three kids 8 and under coming along for the warmer hangs?

Shug, I have to try some of those claxsnacks.

I got a collectors item for Christmas, Hostess Fruit cake, no match for the Claxton for taste though. Waiting for the sales then I can stock up

We need more fruitcakes in this world and less bakers!
