I would Never put a wood burning stove in my tarp while it was set up...there is a BIG risk that it will set the tarp on fire.... and you will get hurt
this is big NO NO in my book

it does not take much for a ripstop tarp to go up ...
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

ahhh ok....when he said wood stove i'm thinking BB or an open top wood stove ....

i still wouldn't trust the pipe to get close to the tarp
maybe if you could make a corner out of canvas ...or wood it would be alot safer ...this way the wood stove won't be near your tarp

you will need to check out a 'stove insert' - I think Kifaru has/uses them- keeps the stove pipe away from the nylon, the rest is mostly placement..and he usefulness of a stove under an open tarp is questionable..unless you have doors and windblocking of some sort, then you are back to tenting, just with elevated sleeping capacity. smokehouse had an excellent exapmle; which is probably the link posted above.. I've been toying with this idea too and it looks like your going to have to make a tarp yourself for it to be totally stove compatible.

For car camping even full canvas would be worth it for the heat in winter time. I have considered a canvas a frame and just set it up over the hammock lol.
