    clamcleat source

Anyone know a source for these. I'm looking for the ones like alot of people
got in the group buy some time ago, only not glow in the dark (black preferable). I know BBL has them, but I really don't need the line that they come with (unfortunately, BBL won't sell the cleats alone).

You can order them direct from England.

I thought there was an on-line purchase option, but I can't find it now. I have sent them email in the past, and they were very helpful, especially regarding posting to Japan and New Zealand.

I ordered direct from England. I also was not able to find an order page, but they sent me a link after I emailed them. Geez, they sure make it easy. Instant currency conversion and the final checkout page gives you an option to pay by paypal. Alot less expensive too, even with the international shipping.

I have been looking for exactly this cleat and also didn't really want to purchase the rope that is included in the BPL offering (the stronger rope is out of stock so the only option is lighter, weaker rope than what I want).

Great timing! Thanks for the link - I've sent an e-mail asking for the order page.

Man, I wish I would have saw this post sooner. You guys do not need to buy these direct from England. I get mine from here:

    http://www.fisheriessupply.com/onlin...01/Ntk/AllBody

CL260 is used for 3mm line and CL266 for 2mm line. I use the 2mm version for my tarp lines, can't beat the price at .55 cents each I don't think. if I recall correctly, Fisheries Supply was very fair on shipping charges too.

    Tobit,
Thanks for the info. I looked at Fisheries Supply but was wary of the wording on the descriptions - it looked to me like they had the two sizes of the cleats backwards in the description. The detailed info did not have titles that were clear, although I think I could guess what each column was. Anyway, ClamCleat.com was very clear and the total cost came out to be about $0.65 per cleat, including shipping and the fact that a quarter of the cleats were the large size. You can order in bulk (bags of 50) for even more savings. The downside - up to 21 days to arrive. But I'm not really in a hurry.

Good to know a "local" vendor has satisfied customers, though. For next time.

$0.65 with shipping from England isn't bad at all. The descriptions on Fisheries Supply site are a bit confusing but I figured out their system.
