Discuss - Dual Mode Bridge Hammock

EXCELLENT ARTICLE, AND VERY COOL CONCEPT. Grizz leads the way in innovation - sell the rights to one of the big guys, and get a commercial version going!

BTW, is a "1" the highest or the lowest rating? I won't rate until I know.

I'm going to slap your hands for not adding tags.

Really super article Grizz. Great concept. Could call it the "Drawbridge" hammock. A bigger bridge is just what is needed for some of the "bigger" boats that will want to pass through.

That's just too cool Grizz. I really like the design.
I hope Dave Matthews doesn't mind
You might want to look at your fig. 2c and 2d (2d disappeared from the writeup and is probably what 2c is supposed to be). Also the second link to 5a is missing a number from the url. It only has mm24 instead of mm249

So you don't have any problems with the spreader ends staying in place? It looks like the two pieces of rope might find there way off that skinny surface.

    ha!
I do about 80% of the driving, and get spelled as needed by my beautiful and talented wife. So then I can climb on my smartphone and see what's happening in my electronic world.

Landed tonight at a Hampton Inn, good bandwidth, fixed up the problems Scott noticed. 12 or 13 road hours waiting for me tomorrow...

Awesome writeup, Grizz and a really impressive design. One more project added to the list....

The fabric I have that would like to use is 44" wide. This is obviously much narrower than the directions call for. I assume this narrower width would cause some serious squeeze in either one or both mode. Does any one have any speculation as to the feasibility of adding fabric to the side via flat-felt seams too arrive at the appropriate width? I have the material to do it... but not much more than that. Should I add to just one side, alternate the side I add to on the inner and outer body or split the addition on both dies of the body on each layer?

I recognize there might not be any previous knowledge for this question... The fabric was out of the $1 bin so it would not be devastating loss if it didn't work. But I hate to waste the nergy and potentially the fabric.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
