that ironing board is to keep my mom happy. i told her after 7 years of marriage i still didn't own an iron (or board) and i never head the end of it. she doesn't have to know "how" i use the board, just that it gets put to regular use. wink wink.

A his and hers hanging set. Very nice job.
And yes, I'm also glad you went with the link and your amsteel will thank you. The larger, smoother diameter will add life to the amsteel.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
Very nice set up as I only have 3 trees in my yard. Two are to close and the other is across the yard from them so, this is a perfect solution. Thanks to everyone who inspired the idea and the construction people for building and the posting of pictures.
Well, a little late to the party, as usual. But, I have a question for the engineers out there.
With the stress put on the top rail, would a three piece rail , 6’ center & 3’ end sections handle it better than a two section rail joined in the middle ?.
This may have been asked before but,I cannot find any reference to the question.
Not an engineer just had some hang time with TD stands. 2 piece, 3 piece, they all work fine as long as you keep the load in a straight line from the hinge.
Chigger is right but I also agree with you that the dead center of the top rail is going to be where the most upward stress is, so I do the same thing. Longest section spans the middle of the ridge pole.
Unless you have a reason not to do it that way, that's how I would do it. Why not?

Can someone help me out? I am trying to find a thread that had a hammock stand that used some larger diameter PVC for the center pole and everything fit inside of them when broken down

Sunshower and others using the Quikclip. Make sure they are closed before loading them as they will open to the point that they can't be closed .
Mountnman, I seem to recall that but can't find it either.
