Well the hammockgear tq's have length baffles-- so you cant really shift the down more to the center... My question was more along the lines of -- if you thought the extra width would cause the tq to bunch and effect temps while in the hammock... But i dont really think it will-- plus i like the idea that as a big guy--- if i have to go to ground(im a side sleeper) that ill still be covered ok.. Well no one seemed to think the extra width would cause any trouble-- so im in for the wide ..

it wont because on your sides your UQ is doing all the work, all you need to do is create a seal around you with your TQ and having a W makes it easier to do this

Actually, I believe that you're mistaken. The UQ's have baffles running the length. If you look at HGs TQ's, you'll see that they run across:

Hence, what DemostiX said would be a great idea...

Rodwolfy--- you and DemoStix are a 100% right...

So that makes DemoStix idea of fluffing the down into the center to make the tq a even higher rating should it get really crazy cold -- another reason to get the wide.. .. Thanks Demo

I'm big. I've got a tall burrow, ZERO complaints. My thought has always been if I had to go to ground I've got a ton of spare high speed insulation to wrap up in, besides my TQ, right there on hand.

I call it an under quilt.
