mosquito net?
I invested in an HH Expedition with the side-zipper, how is the mosquito net on these? Is there anything to keep if off of your face? Also I was thinking of using one of those thermal blankets for a liner. Do you think that would work? I've heard you can get bit through the hammock fabric???
Sorry if it's a newb question. |

I don't know the side zip model from experience, but there should be a ridgeline to keep the net off of your face.
If you are using a blanket liner, a pad, or an underquilt, you won't get bit from below. If you are sleeping in weather that is warm enough so that you aren't using any bottom insulation, you will get eaten......unless you spray the hammock material with Permethrin. It is 100% effective. Read up on it before applying it. Do not use DEET on fabric.

All Hennessey hammocks have a ridge line. It serves two purposes. When you hang the hammock correctly with your lines and straps at approximately 30 deg to a flat horizon, the ridge line sets the sag in the hammock. This allows a good, comfortable lie inside. Second, it suspends the mozzie net.
