    AHE KAQ New River UQ

GOt my New River last week, and this weekend I used it with my new BlackBird 1.1 Dbl in a test hang. The thing ROCKS! Easy to attach, greatly and easily adjustable, and ale to contain the BlackBird's footbox without issue!

Taking it to the Mass Hangin' this weekend.

A Pic or two - click to enlarge:

Trees.jpg Another view at a great hang spot!

The workmanship is superb; I initially worried about just having shock cord in the ends for adjustments, but in reality, it made it easier to tighten-up and adjust for me. It can also easily convert to a TQ or be used as a blanket. Compresses well, and feel great!

I would really like to know more about this UQ... I also have a WBBB and I'm looking for a good full length synthetic.

    Thanks, Ski

Most all the details can be found on the KAQ page. As well as the New River page in the AHE store.

I've been looking at the page, have it up now actually. I just want to make sure this is the one before I buy it. I already purchased a quilt set that will not do what I ask of it.

Will this take a cold sleeper to 40 deg F..?

Pauls quilts are true to there rating ... his are top quality it should have no problem taking you down into the 30's

he uses Climashield in his so you know what kind of insulation you are getting so there is no guessing
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

I agree with G.L.P. I've got a couple of quilts with Climashield for insulation and they work great. I've used 4 layers of Climashield to 10° below zero and stayed good and warm. The basic design of Paul's quilts go back many years. They have been tested and tested and tested. You should have no worries.

Hi ...I am a cold sleeper, as well, and just used the AHE New River at the Mass Hangin this weekend. The quilt ROCKS! I would have NO issue taking under 40* at all! Once snugged-up well, it is warm as toast! Paul's construction and detailing are top-notch, too.

In my not-so-humble user opinion, you can't go wrong! I bought the Synthetic UQ due to the seemingly always wet weather here in New England. Perfect!
