    Big South Fork: NOV 18-20

Four of us fellow hangers plan to take a little hike in Big South Fork the weekend before Thanksgiving, 18-20 NOV. The plan is to meet at the Bandy Creek Campground on Friday and hike a 25 mile(ish) loop, returning back on Sunday, 20 NOV. Not a hang but a leisurely stroll through this National River & Recreation Area. Here is the crew: Medicine Man; Roche; Spamburglar; Wisenber.

    Anyone else interested?

Yo! I will definitely shoot for it. Been wanting to get back out and try some new gear I've been gathering. School, work, and family are keeping me busy, but I might be able to swing it.

What did you have in mind for the loop? I would like to go if work does not get in the way.

    Details

By popular demand the route is attached. There is a fee for a permit, roughly $1 per person depending upon turnout. http://www.nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/permits.htm

Maps on the nps.gov website are dismal http://www.nps.gov/biso/planyourvisi...%20Reduced.pdf

    - the Nat Geo Trails Illustrated Map # 241 Big South Fork was adequate when I hiked there in 2008. I'll try to post the section sometime tomorrow.

The plan is to meet at Bandy Creek Campground on Friday, NOV 18 at X o'clock (suggestions?). You can camp anywhere in the backcountry (subject to normal practices) so we may camp together, or we may just run into each other.

Put me down for this one. It would be fairly easy for someone to join in on Saturday night. Park at Charit Creek trailhead parking lot and take the Black House Branch? trail to Laurel Fork Creek. I am doing another loop next week that includes part of this one.

you can add Hamhocker and myself to your list. We may not be able to keep up with you guys. Plus we may decide to do the shorter loop.
