Just random thoughts at the moment but thinking of a "Hang" where we hang out at night and do the usual hang stuff but during the day we load up in trucks and hit all the local rivers and go after the winter Salmon and Steelhead. There are plenty of good rivers in the area. Again just random thoughts for a slightly different Western Washington Hang.

Time it right and could possibly add in some clamming.

Hi Gary, it's been a while!

I would be up for something like this. Timing for me will depend a lot on work as it seems I'm getting real busy.

Sounds interesting, I assume I could get a day or 3 day out of state license. I just recently bought my Oregon Fishing License. I have not gone Steelheading for many years. Fishing is not inviting in the part of B.C. we lived in.

I will look into getting an out of State License, I think the idea sounds like fun.

From the State of Washington, Fish and Wildlife. Non Resident Fee.

1-Day FW/SW/Shellfish $20.15

2-Day FW/SW/Shellfish $28.95

3-Day FW/SW/Shellfish $35.55

Fresh water/Salt water/Shellfish

Looks good, now I am hungry. Fresh fish, out of the water and into the pan, yummy.

Well done Gary! From the river at your place?

No these are coming out of the Copalis about 10 miles south of there. The Silvers should be dying down soon and Steelhead should start showing up in local rivers. There is a couple clamming days happening this week and I plan to fish the Moclips at the mouth and see whats coming in. I have been getting to know a lot of the old timers around the area and they assure me that there are fish in there, mainly Searun Cuts and Steelhead. Most of the guys out here fish the Humptulips River for them though.. If your ever out here let me know we can go hit some rivers. I will be going out this afternoon and hiking the Copalis to try and get some more Silvers.

Funny, you come inland for fishing where I try to go to Ocean Shores for surf perch and rock fish (not allowed in any Puget areas).

Well I can hear the ocean from where I usually fish the rivers, and I fish the tides so not really sure that's inland:)

If we do it December 5th-7th or December 19th-21st we can fish and for people that like clams you could run out to the beach and get your limits of them too..

I think the 5 to 7 sounds good to me! That's my birthday so I can get wasted and play nude in the ocean! :-) or just fish a lot too.

Wow, will I guess I killed the thread with the nude remark! I was just joking by the way, I only do that in the summer!

Gary, are you still thinking about this? I am trying to make some plans for eairly December. Let me know your thoughts, if it's a small group I'm fine with that too.

Smaller makes fishing easier. Although we all dont have to go to the same spots I guess. I'm looking at options atm. My truck is in the shop so I have been more focused on that this week. Also price checking going up to the reservation and getting a guide..

I have been out a couple times with Kayak4water recently at some new spots and been having good luck.
At this point we would be better off pushing it to later in December or early January for planning purposes.
