Thinking about a quick getaway from Carlsbad on one of the next two weekends, and looking for good campgrounds within an hour or so, and sites for hanging if you know them. Does anyone know bluejay in OC?
We've been to Palomar recently, which is a good backup.
First part of thanksgiving week I was thinking of heading up to the Kern river as well, but also don't know the good places there or how cold it might be this late.
Any ideas or advice is welcome.
Camp fire is mandatory. Places to gather and even chop wood is a bonus for me and my scout, whose working on his Totin' Chip.
