Just wanted to share my recent experience with Hammeck, particularly with the sale they have going on now.

A few weeks back I got in touch with David at Hammeck, explaining to him a problem I was having with a current hammock. When I laid in my hammock, I was experiencing a foot squeeze that drove me nuts. Here is what I'm talking about:96118

Essentially, it appeared that the hammock netting was too tight, forcing the hammock body upwards and forcing my foot to angle in towards the middle of the hammock. Seems like a small problem, but it really annoyed me. Anyways, I sent David an e-mail asking him if he had a product that would relieve this problem. I even asked him if he could create a hammock with extra netting in this area so that I could be assured that I wouldn't have a foot squeeze. Within an hour, he had responded that he thought their entire line of netted hammocks (the Netty or Envy) would work - neither would produce the foot squeeze. Regardless, he offered to do a custom product for me, if that's what I wanted. Unsure of how to proceed, David offered to take pictures of himself in the Netty since we are similar height (6'2"). Later that night, David sent over a handful of pictures of him in the hammock from different angles, telling me that he did not experience a foot squeeze.

I went ahead and ordered the standard 11 foot Argon Single Layer Netty (no overcover for me - I live in TX!). I got it within a couple weeks and could not be more pleased with it. It's easily my most comfortable hammock - and I did not experience any calf ridge pressure. This is saying something I think - I even have a 11 foot Argon that I use with a Fronkey bugnet. Somehow, this is more comfortable than that. Here are some pictures I took:

A couple other positive thoughts on Hammeck - First, David was very accommodating in letting my make my own ridgeline and suspension. Some other vendors sell their product 'ready to hang' and won't allow you to simply buy the hammock itself. I can't sew, but I can (and really enjoy) splice! So I got my hammock at a slight savings while still feeling like I did at least a little of DIY.

Second, I don't think you can find a better deal on a integrated net hammock, even without their current sale. And when you add on the fact that you are able to store the netting on the Netty in a way that nearly removes it completely, the value is incredible.

Thanks Meck family.

David is one TALL fellow and that's for sure. He helped hang my Breezy, at the Hunger Hang last weekend, and I couldn't get that end down by myself on Sunday! LOL
Great hammocks too. My daughter and I just ordered two Envys. I already have a Breezy and love it.

I love my Hammock Envy. I turned in into not only my trail, but my indoor hammock too. They had me at peekaboo cover.
