Ripstop Polyester Questions

I just picked up 10' of ripstop from walmart. I think it is polyester and not nylon. It has the same box pattern. It still frays, just not as easily. It is not coated. It feels different than the 1.9 untreated nylon ripstop I have. It feels rougher. It feels better to me.

Am I right thinking it is polyester? Has anyone made a hammock out of this? Anyone has any experience?

I'm pretty sure my WalMart mystery fabric zHammock (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=475&highlight=zhammock) is made from polyester ripstop. Is it really soft?

Yes it is soft. Now I have another hammock to sew.:p
