I'd like to take a 3 day/2 night trip sometime with some other hammock'ers, especially those interested in lightweight backpacking. I'm open to proposals for when and where, but i definitely would prefer a hiking oriented event vs car camping.

Thoughts?

Count me in as well if it's not too far from the Bay Area.

Depending on the weekend, I am definitely interested.

If you are really talking NorCal, I hike the Trinity's almost monthly.

I'll probably have +2 with me, so now that we have a good amount of interest, anyone have an opinion for seasons and/or location?

I'm near sacramento, anywhere from Sequoia/Kings canyon and north to Shasta, east to the border and west to the coast, i'm in. My quilts are rated down to 30* and i'm a warm sleeper + added clothes, i should be prepared for our mild winter this year, so i'm flexible.

there's a thread here (https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/64564-who-knows-about-good-places-to-hang-in-northern-california) discussing locations and conditions in the NorCal area, i shared our discussion to hopefully get more regional people involved with planning an actual trip.

I'm interested. I've been into UL backpacking for a while now but have just recently discovered hammock camping. Our family recently moved to the Sacramento area and I am eager to explore.

Which parts of Trinity did you do? I went there 4 times last year because I really like the place but it's quite a drive from the Bay Area.

Yes, I realize this is a backpacking thread, but just in case someone does not find the long thread started by Dangler, I'm hosting the SIXTH Nor Cal hang at Boggs Mt State Demonstration Forest near Clearlake the 2nd weekend of April. See my sig line for a link to the thread.

Count me in. I did Trinity Alps last year with my HH Expedition and it was a great first hang.
