Im flying down to GA this Friday, the 13 and will be hiking for a week on the AT. The TSA apparently doesn't allow hiking poles on the plane, so I'm looking to borrow some of anyone would be willing! Thanks!

My 2¢.
I use a duffel bag to transport camping gear, I put my collapsed poles in there with all my stuff. It gets checked in, and goes with all the other luggage below the plane. Never had a problem with TSA regarding this. I normally leave that duffel at my start/return point,(house, hotel, or car) I'm not sure how well that would work if you are being dropped off and only going one way on the trail.
My duffel is canvas and fairly heavy, and I don't lug it with me. I suppose if you needed to, you might find a lightweight nylon one?
Happy trails.

All I can say is that certainly has not been my experience. I've flown with my hiking poles. Took them apart (into three sections) and put them inside my pack. Packs are too large to carry-on anyway, so it had to be checked anyway. I had no problem. Also made sure my little pocket knife was in the pack, not my pocket. LOL
