View Full Version : Too Long?

I am 5 ft. 2 ins. tall and shrinking! I have been thinking about buying a Black Bird, I am worried it might be too long for me to fit properly (foot box----neck support). I need a left lay not sure if that is a factor or not.

Is there a great deal of difference for short folk between the WBBB and the XCL warbonnet? It seems longer is better, however when dealing with things like foot box and such, not sure about being short in 11 ft hammocks.

Input from someone with experience please.

The Terminator is 5ft 3 and has used a BB 1.0 DL for 5 years now and loves it. One AM when I went to wake her up in her BB I found that she had turned completely around inside the hammock.

I'm 5'3" and have a WBBB 1.0 DL and a BIAS WW 11 footer. Both hammocks are extremely comfortable. The footbox in the WBBB really does help with getting a good diagonal lay even for someone my height.

Okay, Thank You Gunner76 and Skiwag. I was worried I would not fit into the longer Black Bird, however, 2 positive reviews from other height impaired members is reassuring. I am going to go ahead and make the purchase.

I'm 5'4" and I'm supremely comfortable in my 10' WBBB. I have and use longer hammocks (up to 14') at home, but when hung right, the BB is the one that feels most comfortable. With your size, I wouldn't go with the XLC - the extra foot won't make you noticeably more comfortable, but you might have problems with reaching the zipper. Since the bug net and top cover are removable with the XLC, you can't leave the zipper where you can easily reach it (as is the case with the 10' BB). So BB all the way.

I have an older WBBB. At 5'9" and sleeping closer to the head end for comfort, I don't even really get into the footbox. The material from the top of it sort of hangs there and covers my feet. That's a little annoying, but not a problem regarding comfort.
