My original trip got cancelled due to rising gas prices
Can't afford to drive to the Mt Rogers area 2 weekends in a row.

Guess I go some place close by and get a night in.

Does anyone have backpacking plans.

Ankle problems have probably put me out for at least a month. I guess I should have paid attention to it when it started hurting in January.

I'm still planning on that hike on the AT from I-40 to Hot Springs June 4-8, then attending the 19th SEHHA Hangout afterward. :D

Love the Bridgestone / Firestone wilderness. My family is orginally from McMinnville (near Sparta) so I'm very familiar with the area. Be sure to make time for a side trip to Twin Falls State Park if you like water falls. It's the male dino's favorite falls and high on my list -- it is also a great place to kyack if you're into that.

FD, we are going in at the Virgin Falls Trailhead and coming out at via the Polly Branch Falls trail. Lots of waterfalls in the area plus the area by Polly Branch Falls is suppose to be loaded with wildflowers. I am betting I may be to late for them.
