Just got back from an excursion to the BWCA, or rather to its very close proximity. You could throw a football into the BWCA from where we camped, but technically we were outside the "Wilderness Area."

The NX250 couldn't have performed any better IMHO. It got down to 20F one night and I still had the sleeping bag unzipped and weather shield half-way down. All buttoned up this outfit should go to 0*F with no problem.

If it had been 5*F colder we would have had some snow which would have been great. Unfortunately it started raining at noon one day and continued to downpour until the wee hours of the AM.

In anticipation of this, I pitched a 10' x 12' F truck tarp instead of the Clark. Undoubtedly the Clark tarp is big enough to get by with, but the larger tarp was nice in all that rain. More than likely I will be in the market for a bigger tarp out of silnylon, because this one is quite heavy.

This was my first hammock trip, and in addition to comfort I was impressed by the field of view one has of everything going on in the campsite at night. Wolves chased a deer right past me at 01:30 a.m. and I probably would have missed the whole thing in a tent.

Here's a few blurry phone shots of the setup.
