Where can I purchase clips such as to hang a mesh bag from my ridgeline?

another option:
small line on each end of your mesh bag tied with a prussik knot. Allows you to slide it anywhere you want and it will stay put.
Yet another option is to use the Highwayman's hitch (http://www.thepirateking.com/knots/knot_hitch_highwaymans.htm), not only will it slide where you need it, but it is also quick release (even quicker than a mitten hook).

I just sewed a sleeve into the bag and leave it hanging full time. Empty it fits fine in the pack.

That is the exact clip I am looking for. Thanks for all of the info, I will try the knot and check out wally world as well.
