I recently purchased 2 pairs of Whoopie Slings from Opie. His service was prompt and efficient. A shipping and/or Canada Customs error delayed my order and initially appeared to get lost in the abyss. Opie, ever the professional; sent me another pair and shipped it 'Priority' at his own expense.

Well, both packages arrived. I contacted Opie and offered to send one set back, but he declined and said I could do whatever I wanted with the second pair.

Here is my suggestion to raise money for donating to HF.net:

A pot-luck 'garage-sale', with the proceeds going to HF. Looking around my house I see a lot of things that I would be willing to part with, including some camping gear and now 4 brand new never been used Whoopie Slings.

General idea on setup:
Each person lists the items that they want to sell.
Highest 'bidder' wins item.
Payment goes to the HammockForums.net paypal Donation account. Once payment is received, the mods can send an email to the 'seller' and they can then arrange shipping to the buyer.

This is of course just an idea that was percolating, I welcome any/all feedback. Anybody think its a good idea?

I think the idea has merit, but it would take a lot of effort to organize and run on a large scale. How 'bout doing an item a week or so?

ok sounds great.

I'll start a thread in the "For Sale" section. 4 Whoopie Slings.

Rather than put extra work on the mods, whaddya think about just donating the proceeds directly when you sell something you'd offer to the cause? Put it in the for sale forum, but tag it with "donation"
