Here I am, at last, hanging out with what I am finding out to be quite a group. My god! What have I gotten myself into!

I always loved hammocks as a kid, and now, once again, am loving the idea of being up in a hammock nest, as opposed to down in a tent cave. As a career professional pilot I much prefer to have a view of the horizon!

I'm getting a WBBB, and am really looking forward to hanging in it. Brandon, as it turns out, lives "just up the road" about 30 miles, and so I know it's a given that if this hammock works for him (and he makes them!) it'll do me just fine, thank you. I actually had a HH Explorer Deluxe on order and in the mail (with a second freebie HH thrown in during their xmas sale) before I heard about the WBBB, but a guy is entitled to change his mind, right? I'll return the HH's, but if anyone out there wants to get a great deal on a couple of HH's, do let me know right away, and I'll send them your way instead of back to Canada.

I do a lot of off-road dual-sport motorcycling and camping, combined with hiking, and have a Speer Winter Tarp. - A good-sized tarp comes in really handy with a motorcycle, and the bike can come in handy as a tie-off instead of a stake in the ground.

I look forward to meeting you guys and gals and hanging together!

....and thanks to all of you who have posted so much info on this forum. It has been a tremendous help to this noob...

Ho!

Welcome to another way of being up off the ground :D Good choices on the gear. You will like that BB. Be sure and take a look at the Trip Planning section as there is a CO group hang coming up end of February, not to far from where you are at.

Thanks, Paul. I'll be sure to visit the Trip Planning Section. The end of February in Colorado will be a great time to get a noob initiation ! I'll be on the look-out for some signs of global warming, to be sure....

It should be a load of fun and with the guys that are planning on going there will be so much gear on hand no noob will go un-insulated. Not certain if I can make it but I want to try. Only a 10 hour drive across most of Wyoming in the winter :scared:

Wait air line pilot you say? Ever make it past BOI? Say last weekend of February?

Corporate, not airline, pilot...flying limos instead of buses! Only flew into BOI once, about 8 years ago....

Welcome to the Forum!
Hope you can make the hang at the end of next month. You're welcome to come check out a few different hammocks if you find yourself in Denver.

I just put my hat in the circle for the end of Feb. hang. We'll see what I'm getting myself in for, but I'm sure I'll survive with folks like you around.

I don't get to Denver much, even though it's only 45 minutes away. But I'll keep your offer in mind.

I've appreciated all the posts you've made, Cannibal. They've been very helpful for this noob to hanging. Thanks!
