View Full Version : Killarney. - La Cloche _ May 6 -8 2017
Heading for another spring hike in Killarney.
I guess this is an annual thing as this will be my third year venturing the entire La Cloche trail
I'm doing the entire loop in 3 days !
Entering @ George Lake on May 6 and Hiking to H20
On May 7 I'll hike from H20-H38
Then May 8 H38 back to George Lake
If any of you are up for the challenge you are welcome to join along !
Otherwise I'll be solo :)

That's how I like it!
8 hour days
Lots of Km
I've done it last year in 3 days
I'm hoping for similar weather as I could go up to silver peak the second day
It's on my challenge list for this year
Last year I was about 24 hours of actual hiking time ( 3 x 8 hour days - 78km or so )
I'm going a bit lighter this year and really looking forward to hiking it again !

Sounds awesome!

Did it last fall in 4 nights. A leisurely stroll in comparison. 2 nights is a challenge. I checked out your itinerary on the map, looks good!

With more notice I'd have joined you. Instead I should be in Algonquin! Next time...

I stayed at h20 and h38. Hopefully the trail dries out for you. It was very sloppy with patches of snow in spots.

H20 / H38 - the exact sited I booked this year - that's funny !
The trail is always a little soggy the first of the year - Last year I was just a few days after ice out!
good thing - there still won't be any bugs !
Cheers

H20 is not the best spot but has some places to hang. H38 is very nice but you may have to hang back in the woods a bit due to it being a very open site. I gotta say your video last year inspired me to try it in three days so thanks for the sore feet and legs haha. Have a great hike.

I guess we won't see you on Opeongo then, eh Lofty? Have a great time and bring your flippers, looks to be a bit 'damp' ... but at least no bugs!

Rain And cold
What could be better for hiking 80km !
Look like temps might hit below freezing too !

I only get 1 spring trip - hopefully I'll get out to a summer or fall egl hang
I
But I prefer hiking over paddling -
Perhaps a trip on islet lake
Some can paddle in from rain lake and I can hike in on the western uplands !
