Why do I do this to myself?
Would anyone be interested in a group buy? I have several sources... Price ranges from $.10 per foot to $.13 per foot.
1.75 or 2.2.
I can get Red in 1.75, and then there is grey and yellow in both sizes.

This stuff works pretty good as a ridgeline and tie-outs right? Holds a prussic well?
If so, I'd like to get about 200 feet of yellow.
Put me on the list for both red and yellow of the 1.7, 100 feet of each. I'd take even more if you had green.

I would like 100 ft of the Gray 2.2mm and 50 ft of the Red 1.7mm. I was looking for a way to get two different size ropes, in two different colors and I found it. I love HF :)...Thanks for putting this toogether Opie and all the advice and help you have given.
Edit: If you cant get the 1.7mm in Red ill still take 50 ft of it in Gray

OK folks... Lets clarify some things.
There are 2 different diameters working here.
The yellow and grey come in either 1.75mm or 2.2mm. The red only in 1.75.
From left to right, 7/64 Amsteel Blue, 2.2mm zing it and 1.75mm zing it

The price on the Lash It for some reason is not falling in line with the Zing It. Right now the best Im at is $.13 for the 1.75 in the lash it and $.15 for the 2.2. I was told when I get a total together, he will work with me on the price.
Still waiting on a couple vendors to return calls.
I can get the 180' spools from Redden for $.12 per foot, either Lash It or Zing It. The only option is 1.75.
If you need to edit your post to clarify diameter or color choice, please do so then I can get a running tally.
The 2.2 has an average strength of 580# while the 1.75 is 400#.
I'll take 6'3.5" of the purple.

I'm still in.
Since, I'm a noobie and just don't want to loose out on materials for making my gear. Can someone explain the benefits of the diameters. I have no idea what lash it is or very much what zing it is. My understanding is that the zing it is being used by DIY'ers for tie-outs on the edges of the tarps. The dyneema and amsteel being used for holding the hammock to the tree huggers. And Barney is used to destroy the sanity of parents, teenagers, and lawn trolls.

The bigger diameter is somewhat stronger.
The smaller diameter is best for making prussiks for on the larger diameter line (they hold better than prussiks of the same diam.)
Lash-it is just gray Zing-it, as far as I know.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, please.

The Zing It and Lash It are made from the same fiber, Dyneema. The difference between the two diameters is strength and thats it. (other than the 2.2 is physically bigger)

The grey is pretty stealthy.

How about uses?
Guy lines, ridge lines (tarp and hammock) Bear bags, clothes lines.
It is spliceable, holds knots relatively well. Works with the Figure 9's.
Just a general, strong, spliceable utility line.

Yup, it is over the price of the DG. Thought about that yesterday and whether or not I should just offer up the DG again. Im pretty sure the DG price has gone up also. I would need to check.
The DG would serve more useful if the price is below what the Zing It/Lash It can fetch.
I thought I would be able to get the Samson lines cheaper because its lighter cord. Doesnt appear to be the case.

Folks, jeffjenn brings up a good point. If I can get the DG cheaper, would everyone rather have that? I wont know the actual prices of the Zing It/Lash it untill I end the buy and get some hard numbers.
As it stands now, the normal price on.....
1.75 grey- $.13.3 per foot.
2.2 grey- $15.2 per foot.
1.75 yellow- $.12.5 per foot
2.2 yellow- $13.9 per foot
1.75 red- $.12.7 per foot.
The DG I was able to get for $.12 per foot. The grey prices will come down some as the vendor has agreed to give me a volume discount. Just need to know what the volume is going to be. The yellow may as well. All prices may drop. Well see how much interest there is and then we can decide from there. I have an email into the vendor I got the DG from seeing about the price.

Ok, sry if this has been answered in some way or another im just trying to learn the "ROPES" (haha good pun I just made a funny :laugh:)
So is dyna glide the same thing as lash it/zing it? Does it come in the same sizes and colors as the lash it/ zing it but is just made by a different company so it is called something different? SO instead of ordering 1.75mm and 2.2mm of lash/zing it, you would just order 1.75 and 2.2 of DG? I havent used either line before, so ill go with what ever the group says is the best line to use and what Opie can find for the cheapest (im useing it for my tarp ridgline, pursicks, reefing knots, and tarp pull outs). Im sure if I dont buy one type of line now ill end up buying it later any ways. This forum has always lead me in the direction of great gear, so I trust the group and you opie, but I dont know much about either line personally so which ever way the wind blows is fine by me.

If it is not too late, I'd like 200' (or 180' if you are buying the small spools) of 2.2mm in gray (anything besides yellow). Dynaglide is fine with me if that's what we end up buying.

It appears to only be available in 2mm in green or orange. It is "stronger" than zing it/lash it.

awesome tlbj, thanks for the clarification, and from what im understanding (and have read in previous threads) Dynaglide 2mm pursicks to it self well enough for the purposes of an over the top tarp ridgline? Either line works for me but im kinda partial to zing/lash it due to size and color differences, but as stated before ill go with what ever the group decides.
I'm in for the zingit...
Tho ANOTHER GB on the Dynaglide would be cool and there'll be lots of interest. I'll wager

Just out of curiousity, if you end up purchasing dyna glide instead of lash/zinng it, how if at all does that change the ordering process. Would we have to post our lengths and what colors we want again? Just curious,

It appears more members want a more subdued color, so well stick with the samson products.

Some info...
The Red comes on 1000' spools. So we are into 2 spools there. Each spool costs $118 plus shipping which IIRC is just under $10. 2 spools would be $236 with the shipping just over $10. That makes the perfoot price $.12.3. Ill ask if I can get a slight discount.
The 1.75 yellow falls under the same scenario and can be had from the same place.
The 2.2 yellow is $139 for 1000' with free shipping over $100. This is going to come from the same place the grey will probably come from. I was told I could get a better price with volume. So once the buy ends, Ill get some firm numbers. At that point if anyone wants to back out due to the price being to high, no problem. I can get the 1.75 here to...

I will leave the GB open until 8pm EST this Friday, the 29th.
Also.. almost no one stocks the grey (Lash It) on the 600' spools. Its all almost always drop shipped right from samson. So... just a forewarning... Once the order is placed, I have no control on how long it takes to get to me.
It is also sold on 3000' spools. If the 2.2 hits 3000, I may cut that one off there. Same with the 1.75.
Ill have to see if the Zing It comes on larger spools as well.

Oh, man, Opie. That's tough. Sorry you had to deal with that. At least you had backups, though. I try to have multiple backups on different types of media, like external hard drive and DVD's, just in case, though I have yet to need them.
There is fairly cheap software available to pull deleted photos off media, but it doesn't work for corrupted files...

I feel your pain. I am in the process of shoving discs into my lap top as part of a reinstall made necessary thanks to some programmer who had too much time on his/her hands. :cursing:

One of the most frustrating things is now we have to learn a new browser. Ive used Fire Fox in the past... But always defaulted to the Yahoo browser. Well.. Now its Fire Fox all the time and setting it up and navigating it after 5 years of they Yahoo browser is a learning curve. So far so good.

opie, I totally forgot to adjust my quantity. If it's not too late I want an additional 100' of the red 1.75, bringing my total to 200'. If it's too late then no big deal; I'll stick with 100'.
If it isn't too late add 50' of yellow 1.75 to my order. I think I could use it for guy lines.

OK... So now its down to who can get the best price.
Ive got length totals into 3 different vendors. 2 are already pretty firm on their price and 1 of those is willing to work with me on shipping.
The third I think is the one that will come through on pricing and shipping.
Opie, let us know if WE need to add or move our order around to accommodate full rolls to better the pricing..or round out the pricing...
I guess I'm saying that SOME of us can work with you to fill out any ordering needs you may run into..

Opie, I sat on my hands when I first saw this GB. Then Friday got past me on the deadline. If possible add 100ft of the 2.2 gray and 200ft of the yellow 1.75.
If it is a done deal, and I'm to late that is fine, it was my fault.
