Hey all,
Has anyone here done a Long Trail thru-hike with a hammock? I am thinking about it for next summer.
Yep. Easily hammock-able the whole way. Here is my guide to the trail if it helps with planning - longtrailvermont.com

I did the LT in 1999 and barely used my tent in lieu of shelters. Would be very do-able in a hammock, with good bail outs if you can't hang.

Both Yukon and myself have done LT end-to-ends using a hammock, as I'm sure countless others here have. My wife and son hiked the first 60 or so miles with me both in hammocks, no problem whatsoever.
I'm planning on doing the Long Trail end of August - begining of September with a hammock - I'll let you know how it goes! I'm going to start a thread for some advice as I'm new to all this and in the process of finalizing plans now. I've been reading Chop's guide too - its a big help.

Very doable. I used a therm a rest pad because I know I would go to ground because some of the shelters (once off the AT) are nice, some like cabins

I did the first 100 miles or so where it and the AT are the same trail and had NO issues finding hammock spots.
Enjoy the trail!

Haven't heard anything from Rob for a while but his vids live on . . .

likewise. I would call the Long Trail basically a condensed AT and, as such, is prime hammock territory.
The Trail even crosses a road that has a hotel and huge pub! what's not to like?
