Hi all

So after looking around for a long time, I finally decided to go for one of Brian's acclaimed "MacCat Deluxe Silpro" tarps. I purchased the tarp on June 6th and it cleared on my bank statement later that day, 166$ that I'm worried was ill spent. I did not receive any kind of receipt, order confirmation, or tracking number, which was supposed to come immediately, according to the website. This worried me a little, but I would just wait it out. So a week passes by and still nothing. I send Brian an email letting him know that I never received an order confirmation and was wondering if it actually went through to him or not. Of course, knowing the horror stories of OES customer service, I didn't expect anything back anytime soon. Another 2 weeks passes by. Nothing. No reply, and no receipt. I email him again, explaining that I understand that he may be busy, but if he could just email me back it would be greatly appreciated. I still haven't heard anything back from him. Does anybody have another way of contacting him? I knew his customer service is bad, but this seems borderline illegal. There have already been so many times I would have loved to gone backpacking with that tarp this summer.

By all means you should dispute this and remember you get what you pay for. If you need a tarp super quick try SimplyLightDesigns as he can get one to you in 3-4 days max.

Not even sure why he is still on the Vendors list.
Never chimed in but have seen this happen repeatedly now.
Can't abide by that.

I cannot for the lfe of me figure out why anyone would even consider ordering anything from this guy EVER!???
This forum alone is full of horror stories just like yours , even worse, not only that but right now cottage vendos like UGQ are running awesome sale price's on Hammock tarps that are built not only by one of the best tarp builders on the planet but by a vendor who puts customer service at the top of thier priority list!
Hate to say this but you should have known better,, good luck!!

For some reason the admins dont want to remove him?? We should start a petition? How do we get rid of him so another nubee doesn
't get burnt?

That doesn't surprise me. They'll ban a post in a nano second but something like this they do not want to touch. Doesn't make much sense to me as removing this would protect a lot of unknowing customers.

Lol people still try to order from him?

Obviously dispute it. Do research. Buy reputable. Plenty of awesome tarps from hard working vendors on here.

The mods aren't the cops and the shame is that he would still show up out on the rest of the web... When I was new, and before I stumbled into Hammock Forums, I almost ordered one as they seemed quite appealing.
Sad to see this as it just gives all the cottage vendors an obstacle to credibility.

I'm sad to say, but I agree.

Shug,
He is has a sub forum here for organizational purposes only. Having a sub forum is no indication of Hammock Forums endorsing a vendor. There is a comment at the top of the vendor forums that states "These forums are not a seal of approval by Hammock Forums. The sub-forums are simply for organizational purposes"

People need to do their own research. This is what it says at the top of the Vendor area "These forums are not a seal of approval by Hammock Forums. The sub-forums are simply for organizational purposes"

The OP said he did his research. He obviously did not do any research here on this forum or he would have known it can be hit or miss from Brian.
IMO, Removing this vendor and all the posts on this forum would hurt new members researching gear not help them.

Wait! You knew and still bought from him. Shame on you! I'm telling your mother!!!

But yes, dispute it ASAP...

Then perhaps there should be a buyer beware forum, just saying.
