Got my minus 40 this past week, it sucks that winter is over but that's okay I'll probably use it till June probably. But here are some pictures of the Carolina Reaper minus 40 with 5oz overstuff!162461162462

LLG and George's work is beautiful for sure. I never could have imagined something like this a few years ago.
The hand pic is almost comical. Not in a bad way, but I just have to chuckle at it. It almost looks like a freakin mattress wrapped around the hammock.

Wow, I've never seen one besides stock photos, that's thick!

That is sweet! I just ordered a 0* reaper. I'm on week 1 of a 12 week wait so I'm looking at June. Maybe it will still be cold at 12,000ft.

I've only hung it inside and only had a chance to spend about 20 minutes in it, but wow its instantly warm! And weighs in at 44oz roughly!

Wow! That's a lot of gooses and ducks in there. Looks great! Can't imagine the price tag on that...sure it's worth every penny. I love my paltry 10° quilts.

Thanks for your pictures. This is an awesome quilt and it looks so great.
I am curious to understand why you selected the Carolina Reaper design (instead of the Habanero for instance). I have noticed that Carolina Reapers tend to be heavier everything else remaining constant, so what ended up tilting the scale to favor the Carolina Reaper in your case?
Thanks for any feedback. Starting to plan for my next future Winter quilts...

No dedicated lady, I move a lot at night, plus the sew pattern allows for less movement of the down

Do you mean "lay" (autocorrect maybe?) It took me a minute to remember that you can choose the lay direction on the Habenero. I'm the same tho... move around a lot at night, I'd probably do the same.

Is that what the kids call it these days? Funny way to say “single and looking? lol. I do see that Habanero has a straight baffle option though. I’m guessing that means it’s also got no dedicated lady, right?

I compressed it into a large sea to summit compression bag, I can't upload a pic but its smaller then I expected, about the height of my 48oz nalgene water bottle
