I picked up a reinforced pole bag for my spreader bars and tarp poles from SLD. Even something as simple as this reflects some fine craftsmanship:

Thanks Jared!

That's very nicely done, typical of the fine work Jared puts out.

What are the materials used for the pole bag blank and reinforcement? Is that Oxford cloth on the bottom?

It's 1.1 oz silnylon with a 200D nylon bottom. Those bare spreader bar ends are a bit sharp. Sorry, KC, I don't know what Oxford cloth is.

That's the part of my DIY stuff sacks that's always a bit of a mess. I'm gonna study this picture so I can improve my own sewing techniques. It looks really neat, and also strong and functional.

Looks good. I've got a variety of his gear and stuff sacks. He made me these for one for those big 10" spikes I use for winter camping. Whatever the material is, it's bulletproof. Also have a zippered one in the same material for tent poles. The big black stuffsack is for a SLD hot tent prototype (review and report coming soon). The second pic shows the stake bag open and the foam sit pad SLD sells.
