My Dutch half zip came with 2 shock cords. I'm guessing they both go on the head side. Is this correct? Thanks Dug

Those are side tie-outs, one left and one right, that mate to the LL3s. Some people use 'em, some don't. I don't.

I always use the side tie outs on my HH explorer with the asymmetric tarp. Most of the videos I've seen with Dutch hammocks look like two are used on the same side. It doesn't seem like they are even needed though.

Thanks for the quick responses. Going to try using it without them. My HH has the bottom entry. Think the tie outs helped me find my way home.

I use the tie outs on my Chameleon wide like this.

Your picture shows 2 on each side. Is that what you use?

There are two on each side that are adjustable from inside the hammock providing more tension to keep the bugnet off of your face. Also, these tie outs are movable, you simply unsnap them from the D-rings and move them to the other set.

Yes, 1 length of shock cord with an adjustable hook on each end. Clip the hooks into the 2 tie outs and use a single stake to pull them out.

Or, like WB, a static cord between the two connection points with a split ring sliding on it and an adjustable length of shock cord from the ring to the stake.
