I thought this might be of interest to some of you here. In one of my industry magazines they had a little blurb about GPS tracking on several of the wolf packs in Voyageurs National Park through the Voyageurs Wolf Project. It looks like most of the info this group has is on their Facebook page (I'm not on FB so I didn't dive too deep but I'm sure others can find some other info if interested). With the Google machine, I found a link to a related news story from early December 2018 too.

[if these links don't work, I'll try to fix them]

The tracking overlays show just how territorial the wolves are and how they 'stay in their lane'. I seem to recall Shug mentioning how the wolves are slowly making a comeback out there (& I recall him catching very brief footage of one crossing a river on one of his rambles!).

I just thought it was neat and that this group would appreciate it!

Thanks, that was really interesting. I hear them occasionally in the national forest behind where I live, or out on a trek but haven't had the good fortune for a viewing yet.

Thanks for posting that, that is really interesting! May have to take a trip up to the area and do some hiking and hammocking and maybe get a glimpse of some wolves if I’m really lucky.

Been to Voyageurs a lot. A boat park for sure.
Never saw a wolf there.
Have had a couple of encounters on the SHT. Got one on video.
