As the title posted I figured it out.....

THE STUFF SACK!

They're not that bad.
Then again, I only weigh 170 lbs, so the stretch isn't too bad for me.

The stuff sack is about the only good part of Slap Straps, IMO. Dancer uses one for her stakes and straps for her cinch buckles.

They'll stretch over night for sure ... even at 170 lbs. My problem was always having to compensate for where I set the hammock and where I "figured" it would end up. So now they are in the old gear box and like the OP said ... great stuff sack! ;)

Sure glad I only paid the guy $5 for them!

The slap straps do well for their purpose, to hang you up easily. But now that I have switched to whoopies I thought it was a good time to upgrade. They are heavy, bulky, and my 240 pound but landed on the ground or close to it too many times. I use mine to carry tree straps now, but light polyester ones from AHE. Love the light stuff sack though

I have now switched to tree straps and Whoopie slings. The bag will now be put into use for carrying the tree straps, marlin spike toggles, and ridgeline. The ENO slapstraps stretched too much for me, maybe I should loose some LBS?
