I have the cart all ready to go on my LL quilts and I have no idea whether I want the insulated hotbox or just the snap and drawcord version. I realize the sewn hotbox is probably much warmer but I just wanted to ask others if there are pros/cons to either? Also if George if you see this I am going to be ordering a top and bottom quilt. Does that affect lead times? No big deal if it does. Just curious.
Thanks

If you quilt ratings are 20 degrees or lower go for the hot box otherwise not.

Definitely get a sewn footbox for colder temps. For warmer temps it’s a matter of preference. If the idea of opening it up doesn’t seem like something you would do anyway, might as well go for sewn for all quilts. It shouldn’t ever affect lead times with any of the vendors. I prefer not to have any hardware down by my legs and feet. The sewn boxes are also notably lighter.

Speaking of hot box, I just got back from Michigan and...never mind.

Sewn footbox for me on all my quilts - 0*, 20* and 40* F. I've never been able to grasp why people want snap and drawcord, unless you want to use the quilts on your bed.

I had a summer quilt (40º) with a zippered footbox from another vendor. I thought I would use the zipper but I didn't. I never once spread it out like a blanket. I sent it back and had the zipper removed. Personally, ill always get the sewn footbox in the future.

I have a 50deg EE Revolution and 40deg Prodigy (now Revolution APEX) with zip/drawcord foot and have used that feature a few times on very warm nights.
But I could easily live without it.

I use my quilt on my bed, and wish I had gotten the sewn footbox. I was thinking of using it opened up, but I always end up keeping the foot box zipped and secured/snapped shut. The sewn footbox is a lighter option and keeps the feet warmer. Win/win.

I ended up ordering the sewn foot box. Hopefully in the next couple weeks it'll be ready. I'm dying to try it out!
