a special congratulations to Angela Zukowski (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/member.php?u=5536) for embarking on the journey to tackle the Appalachian Trail, sponsored in part by te-wa underquilts. I'll be following her Journal (http://www.trailjournals.com/zuke) along the way.
Have fun out there Moss!

I have to thank everyone on this forum that helped my niece/hiking buddy get up off the ground !(so to speak).Either directly or thru informative posts she has embraced hanging as a tool for COMFORTABLE long distance hiking .I really feel that it will make a impact on how far she can go daily .by getting a good nights sleep. She has commented to me several times that this forum is one of the most civil, polite, and helpful forums (of any topic) on the net.For a crazy bunch of tree hangers ,you guys are the best !!! thanks.uncle hikie

Moss, AKA Zuke, finished the Smokies yesterday after two consecutive 20 mile days. She had seen her first bear on the hike after only two hours in the Smokies a few days ago.

Angela covered 47 miles in 25 hours, with no sleep, to reach Virginia yesterday. Now that's an accomplishment. No question about trail legs kicking in.

Here's hope's that she take's it easy on that knee, maybe a zero or two, hiking with an injury is not a lot of fun! Pushing through a little pain is one thing, but pushing it too far is never a good thing!
