Guardian Bag Removal

A co-worker and I were having a bug net debate and he estimated that I can shave somewhere between 3-7oz off the Guardian if I remove the baggy. Does anyone have a solid answer to the weight savings I would see? I'm debating between the Guardian and the WB and I had ruled out the Guardian due to it being 16oz vs 7.5oz for the WB but my buddy swears the baggy will throw the Guardian back into the race.

I'd go with the Warbonnet Guy's product rather than clip the bag ... if you have it anyway ... then clip the bag. But not sure how much you're really going to save. I doubt if it's enough to get all giddy about. ;)

I took my bag off . 3.9 oz savings. If I had to get another bug net it would be the WB bugnet because of the weight savings. That said the eno net is very well made .

The Warbonnet Net would be better if you have a structural ridgeline for it to support itself. If you do not one could be easily made. The suspension of the guardian net it was turned me to the warbonnet traveler net.

... and the horizontal zipper is better for leaning out of your hammock to do thinks like "Breakfast from the hammock" (insert a Minnesota, NC Irish accent ;) )

I cut just the strap and the buckle of both my guardian and my doublenest and saved an ounce off each. I like the stuff sack/pocket and plan to keep them. The compression strap on the other hand was just annoying and barely compressed it anyway.
