1.25" Webbing???

I still like the cinch buckles that Warbonnet was using up until a few months ago the best, and I have quite a few of them. The only problem with them was that they were designed for 1.25" webbing, not 1".

I'd really like to use them, but have been unable to find a source for the webbing. I know somebody makes the stuff, because I have some on a pair of ratchet straps.

Anyone know of a source (I've already checked Strapworks)?

I've always wondered about that too. 1.25" webbing seems common enough if made from nylon or cotton (even heavy duty straps), but not polypro or polyester.

1.5" is a different story...

TN Webbing (http://tnwebbing.com/) has low prices and good service. They may also have non-milspec webbing that meets your needs.

Thank you, Albert, for the links. The milspec webbing is nylon, but I've bookmarked it for possible later use.

I went to a local farm and ranch store this morning, and discovered some 12'x1.25" polyester ratchet straps (made in Indonesia with German webbing). Destroying a brand new pair of ratchet straps runs directly against my grain, but I sucked it up, and did what had to be done.

While this webbing is not what I would have chosen, being yellow and of a not so soft hand, it transforms these buckles...they are much more well behaved with the proper webbing, and, knock on wood, don't require a slippery half hitch to secure them.

Two questions remain. Someone went to considerable effort and expense to create these beautifully designed and executed buckles, but why 1.25"?

And since the webbing is obviously made elsewhere, why is it unavailable here?

Bison is the company that makes the outdoorsy belts you see in your local outfitter. I'm guessing 1.25" is a better width for belts, proportionally.

No, they aren't stealth, but they don't scream at you, either. They have a nice, soft hand, 2500# rated, 833# working load limit, and as a bonus, match the buckles and Dutch Clips. Now go pick on somebody else, G.:lol:
