While setting up my JRB BMB for the first time this weekend, I noticed that I could adjust the location of the tri-glides to be closer to the trees or closer to the suspension rings while still maintaining the 9.5' spacing between the rings. Not knowing if it mattered, I decided to split the distance between tree and the ring.

Is there a rule of thumb for the location of the tri-glide with respect to the trees and suspensions rings?

Also I tied a knot in the standing end of the webbing, at the triglide to protect against any slippage, but I wasn't happy with the resulting knot.

Is there a preferred or recommended knot for that application? Is the knot required [besides for my peace of mind]?

Thanks.

Hey tjm,

I have the tri-glides on my Grand Trunk double and have not had to tie a knot in the end. I am 6'3 and 375# and have had no slippage at least not yet. Granted I have not slept overnight in it yet, just a few hours here and there in the backyard. They seem to hold very well, not sure about the spacing don't think it really matters though. Have a good one.

Webbing in JRB tri-glides, unlike rings, will not slip... No need for back up knots of any kind.
