Noob needs help w. DIY hammock

Questions:
Where do I buy ripstop nylon?
Do I need a straight stitch along the edge?
How do I attach it to my suspension?

Get 1.1 from www.thru-hiker.com. 60" x 3 yards.

Sew hems along all four sides, then fold 2" over and sew three rows of stitching to create an end channel. Run the suspension through the channel.
