can any one tell me if it is possible to make a woopie sling out of 2 mm Dynamic Line SK75. http://www.nauticalrope.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=41_44&products_id=83&zenid=rhtccb3l3uq1nqq1f8pc6iv636 thanks i live in Ireland and was not able to get amsteel blue

The site doesn't say, but it looks to be braided. If that is true, the splicing should be just as easy as any other single braid line, e.g., amsteel, dynaglide.

Email the vendor and make sure it is single braided line. You could also ask if they have experience splicing it.

Sure looks like a single braid line that will work.

And at 900 kilos of break strength, I would say it is more than strong enough as well. Whoopies are a fun project.

young hanger--I can imagine am. blue is not available in Ireland. Have you considered ordering a set to amsteel whoopie slings for you and your friend (Xmas is only 3 months away) from www.whoopieslings.com ?

You need some sort of splicing tool- Some flower arrranging wire, some earth wire stripped out of ring main, thin arc welding rods etc . You need a couple of feet at most.
I used earth wire, it worked well. You should be able to find some in a skip, or ask for a length of wire from a florists if you cant find any at home.

I use either a .024" or .035" stainless steel wire made for salt water fishing leaders. Any wire of approx. that diameter should work. Cut a piece about 24" long, fold it in half and squeeze the folder end together with pliers leaving just enough gap to hold the line fairly snug. Works like a champ!

Well done! I'm green with weight-weenie envy. 9oz. . . that's less that the stock HH napkin. :)
