Has anyone used this fabric for a hammock?
I weigh 167# and was looking to make a gathered end UL hammock and I know Thru-Hiker sells this but I'm not sure what the weight limit's are(they are also not listed on the site(thru-hiker))!
Thanks for your help!!!!

Are you thinking of using because of the weight?
If so check with those who have actually weighed the fabric as received. As I remember, this was discussed previously and the 0.9 weight figure is for the untreated fabric and the final treated fabric weight is higher. Don't remember the final weight figure.
I belive that momentum is the same or similar fabric that Storm Crow uses for his underquilts. I hope that gives you some idea of what you are looking at.

I have used the fabric before for other projects, but my question (might have worded it wrong) is I want to make a hammock out of it, and not sure what weight it can handle? Brandon at Warbonnet lists the 1.1 SL at a max weight of 185#'s! I can't find a listing of what weight it can hold, so if anyone has used this fabric for a hammock, how much did you/or do you weigh?

I ordered some 40D 1.1 from Quest Outdoors that is DWR treated. The black stuff weighed 1.1, but the Kelty green that my hammock is made from was only about 0.9oz per square yard. I've got 3 nights in the hammock so far without an issue.
The momentum I recieved was 1.12 oz/yd.

Yeah, I did a couple of years ago. Here is the thread. (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5889)
I took that hammock on a recent backpacking trip. I love the feel of the fabric! I have every reason to believe that the fabric is strong enough. I let a 185# person use it, and there were no strength or durability issues.
I'll share one detail that I may not have previously divulged. Originally when I sewed it, I had to remove a bad seam. Afterwords, the needle holes were very evident in the fabric. I was concerned that they might begin to stretch or get worse. They haven't gotten worse....so far. But they have unfortunately left a permanent scar, so be very careful when you are sewing momentum fabric.
Aside from the color, it remains one of my favorite hammocks.

Thanks for all the help everyone, dblhmmck have you noticed a lot of material stretch?
I have a Nano 7 and while I like it it's just a hair short my attempt to make something slightly longer I would like to keep the weight down as much as possible and I couldn't find any info on the fabric!!!

dblhmmck have you noticed a lot of material stretch?
The stretch is less than that of an uncoated 1.1 ripstop fabric from Walmart, that's for sure. The fabric feels supportive, wind resistant, and down right luxurious.
I think there may be a slight bit of cling to the fabric as opposed to most nylon coatings. The slightly non-slip effect of the fabric might be counteracting the feeling of stretching for me. But you would need to take in to account that I'm using two layers of material, and I think you were asking about the strength of one.

Momentum's actual weight is 1.05 per sq yard...It is not 0.9 oz... that is a misnomer extracted from the term, "Momentum 90".
