Does anyone know what type of rope is used on the Clark? Its definitely different than any other I have used. It is very coarse, thick, and the fibers dont like to be twisted as they tend to untangle from each other during such movement. Its certainly is not as smooth, soft and pliable as the Hennessey ropes.

My Clark UL used a polypro rope called "Unmanila". I have found it at Academy Sports for about $3 for 50 feet. I used that rope for several years with no problems. It actually gets better with use. I believe it is made by Wellington.

I've another hammock, just a string one I use for dayhikes, that uses the same rope...after 10 years it's easier to tie and untie now than it was new...I'm a fan of the rope used by Clark...
